Summary:Mr. Kevin Varty, MD FRCS BM Bch BA (Hons) Oxon.
Consultant Vascular / Endovascular Surgeon.

Senior Cambridge Vascular / Endovascular Surgeon, benefitting from over 10 years experience as a Consultant. Qualified from Oxford in 1985 with surgical training in Oxford, Exeter, Nottingham, Derby and Leicester. Wide range of clinical and research interests in arterial and venous disorders.

Busy NHS clinical practice dealing with abdominal and thoracic aneurysms, (open and endovascular repairs), fast track carotid surgery and stenting for the prevention of stroke, peripheral arterail angioplasty and reconstruction for leg ischaemia (bad circulation), surgery and sclerotherapy for venous disorders. Also expertise in sympathectomy for sweating disorders, rib resection for thoracic outlet syndrome, management of the diabetic foot and leg ulcers.

Venous disease forms a larger part of my private practice with one stop assessments including duplex ultrasound scanning. A range of treatment options are available, from sclerotherapy (micro and foam), venous ablation (VNUS and EVLA) and surgical removal of veins. These can be tailored to treat the individual. The least invasive but effective option is required.

All aspects of arterial surgery can also be dealt with via private practice, speeding up assessment and investigations.

Treatments for sweating disorders (botox, sympathectomy, sweat gland excision) are less readily available via the NHS, and I see many patients with these problems for assessment in the private clinics.
