Summary:I am a Consultant ENT surgeon and Director of ENT services at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. I was appointed in 2001 following Skull Base and Neurotology Fellowships in Cambridge and Manchester. I have developed an interest in paediatric and adult ear disease and specialise in the management of complex otology as well as neurotology, skull base surgery and cochlear implantation.

As an ear surgeon, I manage all forms of pathology including child glue ear, hearing loss, vertigo and ear discharge. I believe in delivering a high quality service and prospectively audit all my surgical results so that I can develop and improve surgical outcome.

Multidisciplinary teamwork is central to my practice. I work closely with tinnitus experts, investigating and treating continuous and pulsatile tinnitus. I offer a full dizzy service that includes assessment, investigation and treatment of the dizzy patient. A private hearing aid service offers a range of aids for all severities of hearing loss.

I am a member of a large skull base and otoneurosurgical multidisciplinary team based at Addenbrooke's Hospital. I manage all skull base pathology including patients with acoustic neuroma, glomus tumour, squamous carcinoma of the ear and accept tertiary referrals from across the country. The team offers all modes of treatment for patients including surgery and steriotactic radiotherapy. The team has built up an extensive experience over many years and surgical results reflect the care that we deliver. we offer auditory brainstem implantation as part of the management of patients with Neurofibromatosis type 2.

I am a member of the East of England Cochlear Implant Unit. The unit manages the hearing rehabilitation of children and adults with severe and total hearing loss. Our large multidisciplinary team believe in maximising residual hearing and cochlear implantation if hearing levels are unsatisfactory.

I am a member of the BUPA partnership.
