Eligibility

Surgeons must meet the following criteria to be enhanced members of the site:

  • inclusion on the specialist register of the General Medical Council currently holding a permanent appointment as consultant or senior lecturer in an NHS hospital, or having equivalent status and clinical experience
  • only carrying out procedures or techniques that are part of his or her normal practice, and for which he or she can provide evidence of adequate training and ongoing experience
  • meeting the Continuing Medical Education requirements of their relevant Royal College, and for revalidation by the General Medical Council
  • complying with the "Principles for a Private Medicine Clinical Quality Framework" of the Private Practice Forum of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges
  • adequate professional indemnity insurance
